Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
When we bless the cup at the Lord’s Table, aren’t we sharing in the benefits of the blood of Christ? And when we break the load of bread, aren’t we sharing in the benefits of the body of Christ? [1 Corinthians 10:16]
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (Eucharistic Ministers) have the privilege and responsibility of assisting at Mass by giving the Body and Blood of Christ to communicants during parish liturgies. They receive their delegation from the Bishop or his Episcopal Delegate to serve in our parish. In this way, they are Christ’s own hands, reaching out with the Bread and the Cup, offering “the Body of Christ:” and “the Blood of Christ.”
