Who’s the new Chaplain of UCI college campus ministry?
Soon after his family arrived to the US surviving from their escape from the plight of the Vietnam War, Fr. Ben Tran was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. 4 years later, the entire family of eight children moved to sunny Orange County.
It was during his college years when he encountered a deep revelation of God presence and His all pervading love through the power of Holy Spirit. This transformative experience compelled him to seriously consider the priesthood. He applied and was accepted to St. John’s Seminary College and Theology in Camarillo where he earned his BA and Master’s degree.
Fr. Ben was ordained a priest on June 10, 2006. After 18 years of serving in various parishes, he now begins his mission and adventure to evangelize the young college students of UCI as their new University Chaplain.
Fr. Ben also looks forward to celebrating Mass for our SEAS family and getting to know us all! He’s actually Fr. Brandon Dang’s spiritual Father!!! He enjoys playing guitar, worship, back country hiking, camping, sports, and traveling. His favorite slogan is… “God is good! All the time!”
