Liturgy of the Word with Children
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light for my path.
Liturgy of the Word with Children is celebrated at our 9 AM Mass on Sunday and is for children in grades 1-6.
Why We Celebrate
The adaptation of the lectionary for children along with the Directory of Masses with Children have been the stepping stones for the celebration of Mass at the level that young Catholic children can understand. This allows the children to have a shorter, more exclusive celebration adapted just for them. this is the model in use in our diocese and the liturgy model we have for our parish.
What to Expect
Families come to worship in the church as usual. After the opening prayer, the children process to the Parish Hall where they experience God’s Word at their own level. The children rejoin their families in the church during the Offertory. They then celebrate the Liturgy of the Eucharist with the Parish community.
