Have you ever heard the saying, "singing is praying twice?" It's definitely true! Music is a blessed gift given to us by God. How wonderful it is, then, to give that blessed gift back to God!

Music Ministry offers us the opportunity to do just that. Music is capable of touching hearts and souls in ways that words alone cannot. Music is the universal language that reaches far beyond race, color, or religion. Music is our gift of praise to the Lord! In sharing our gift of music with God and our parish family, we in turn, receive blessings a hundredfold.

If singing or playing an instrument is your special gift, come be a part of our Music Ministry family here at SEAS. Just call or email the music office and set up a time when you can come in and see where your gifts would best serve our parish family.

PRAYER OF PREPARATION FOR A MUSICIAN Mark and Terri

Lord, the time is at hand:
     I am about to become Your sacred instrument.
Through me and the talents You have given me,
     I am about to become a channel
     of Your Mysterious Grace.
May the melody and song of this Celebration
     give honor to You, my God and Lord.
Free of excessive nervousness and fear,
     forgetful of myself,
     may I become a perfectly tuned instrument
     through which You mysteriously will touch
     each person who will hear the music
     that has been prepared.

Free my heart of pride
     and of any desire for attention
     so that the Divine Melody
     may be heard beneath each song,
     beneath every expression of my talent.
May this sacred worship be not a performance
     but my prayer to You,
     my service to the community
     and my gratitude for the gifts and talents
     that You have bestowed on me.

I am Yours, play upon me.
