What is the Legion of Mary
“The Legion of Mary is an
Association of Catholics who, with the sanction of the Church and under the
powerful leadership of Mary Immaculate, Mediatrix of all Graces (who is fair
as the moon, bright as the sun, and - to satan and his legionaries - terrible
as an army set in battle array), have formed themselves into a Legion for
service in the warfare which is perpetually waged by the Church against the
world and its evil powers.”, from the Legion
of Mary handbook.
When and where do we meet?
We met every Tuesday at 7:00 pm in Room #2 of the Parish hall
of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. The meeting usually lasts about an hour.
We say the legion
prayers, including the Rosary
and then discuss the works done by the legionaries during the week.
What do we do?
Our primary duty is to assist the pastor in the needs of
the parish. At SEAS, we visit the newly registered parishioners, take a crib
medal to the newly baptized children, visit the orange county juvenile hall
and perform detention
ministry, take communion to the sick and elderly in our parish, conduct
communion services, etc.
How do you join?
Please call Rosina
Mendez at the Parish office or email her at rosina@seasirvine.org
